Thanks to everybody who donated, I was able to raise over $1400!
Owen came out for the big day
With Laura (aka speedy gonzalez)... who suggested the race in the first place, swore up and down that she didn't train enough, and then beat me...by 13 minutes!
Owen thought it was hilarious when I smacked my head on one of his toys. So I spent the next 10 minutes smacking my head just to get the laughs, but it was worth it.
On February 21st, 2010 I will be running a 10 mile race in Prospect Park to raise money for my cousin and his family. My cousin, Michael, was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. ALS in a degenerative and progressive neurological disease and there is no known cure. Motor cells in the spinal cord and brain degenerate, leading to muscle weakness and loss of mobility, speech, swallowing, and respiratory function. Michael is now in a wheelchair and uses a speech assistive device to communicate. Please support me in helping Mike, his wife, Chris, and their three children, Sarah, Alex, and Lizzy, cope with this disease. Medical care, home care, assistive technologies and equipment are just a few of the mounting expenses that Mike and Chris have. Any amount is truly appreciated.

Owen learned how to wave! (Though it took a bit of coaxing...click here for more) Also, the headband was part of his Halloween costume, but it helps to keep food out of his hair.
